They're not the greatest of components not to mention THERE NOT coil overs by nature. there a simple adj spring perch WHICH IS NOT a true coil over. Not to mention a coil over "type" suspension on a car that sees even less than 30% track time is really wrong for the street and i would assume your more into the 1320 (1/4 mile) not exactly the suspension setup for drag purposes. Ive always had my cars for the last 14 yrs lowered, 1.5" or more, never, NEVER had an issue all yr round winter or otherwise.
I would Seriously plant the seed that you stiock with a spring and adj. strut setup and get the most out of it. Custom spring rates are available through Eibach (ground control still uses there spring technology and forgings for there springs, BUT...) or even Progress or TEIN. they all offer custom spring rates to YOUR specifications. Those i know off the top of my head. there may be others. My knowledge of product info is more manufacture based than just application based but take it for what its worth. everyone has an opinion.
Now if your going to be a serious road race or auto-cross the vehicle more than a few weekends out of the year and your dead set against a more aggressive street-able setup. than by all means Coil overs are for you. Just buy something worthy, not a rendering of the true thing. Id realy hate to see you cause or expand some suspension issues for an over rated pair of Ebay style "coil overs"
there are some real serious enthusiast on here that do a little of everything including tote there familys around in some of there project cars. Redlynr, Ollie, Bullet just to name a few that i know are in tune with suspension setups. Myself as both an enthusiast AND an installer of such after market goodies have seen the mistakes of many, i try to prevent others from the same fates...
do keep us up on the progress tho
