Mini-me Combos

If you decide to do the swap don't expect insane power gains. a 20 hp gain or sometimes more has been achieved on head and block alone but, sometimes excessive tuning may be required to run well. You may want to choose a P28 for its easy modifications and tuning capability. You will need a conversion harness to go from OBD II to OBD I.
Obviously you would want to mate these combos with a Si/Ex tranny for the shorter gear ratios and even a JDM hydro tranny equipped with LSD is available but be warned you will need a set of new axles much like the ones The Driveshaft shop offers as the lengths will need to be modified. That at a later date. for now, enjoy the head block combos for reference. for those of you that may already know this, this will be hear for direction and search feature for the newbies so you don't have to keep explaining or flame on them.

Head / Block / Compression
Z6........Z6.........9.13:1
Z6........Y8.........9.29:1
Z6........A6.........9.95:1
Z6........Zc........12.03:1
Z6........D15......10.10:1
Z6........Y7..........9.62:1
Y8........Z6..........9.45:1
Y8........Y8..........9.61:1
Y8........A6........10.33:1
Y8........Zc........12.61:1
Y8........D15......10.52:1
Y8........Y7..........9.96:1

FYI head gasket thickness, Brand, Materials can and will alter this information. I do not recommend taking one of the three layers out of the headgasket. however the CR points are worth .03 cr.

Re: Mini-me Combos

1) you didn't state which D15 pistons, I'll assume PM3

2) what headgasket thickness was used?????

Z6/Y8 is .028" installed

Also worth mentioning is the mix match of head bolts some of those combos will need.

Not forget you can mill .040" with ease.

Also 1/2 tooth cam timing error on some combos.

Re: Mini-me Combos

Hell yeah!

I absolutely LOVE mini-me's. They're so much fun. I had a mini-me at one point, d15b8 + d16y8 head. I ported the head, put a light flywheel and some ebay 6 puck clutch on it, put some timing to it, made a ram air intake for it, and put a header on it......and it picked up 7mph and shaved off 1.5 seconds from the original ET.

Not to mention Single cams are retarded easy to work on.

And then I hit it with an shot somewhere around a 75-100 button.

And it puked a rod. So much for D15 pencil think rods. And yes, I knew there was a high chance of it breaking when I sprayed it.

But it was an absolute BLAST on nitrous!! I think I'm going to build another nitrous single cam during my stay here.....
